Kamerstart.nl is an initiative of a student who studie in Utrecht. He still experienced problems while looking for a room, and that the Internet can be a solution to this problem. He visited other websites that functioned as a ‘room-mediator’, but they were quite complex and had a lack of efficiency. Therefore in 2003 he decided to develop a website themselves, which should be young, fast and easy in use.
Kamerstart.nl is a website that mediates between people that are looking for a room, lessees, and people who offer a room, lessors. Lessors can place their ads for free, lessees can view these ads. Lessees have the possibility to place a call, in which they promote themselves. Lessors who are looking for a lessee can contact the people who are looking for a room. Besides that,
Kamerstart.nl offers a package of services to make using this website more attractive to use. Rooms can be placed at a clipboard temporarily, users can preview their calls or ads and the color combinations of the website can be adjusted to personal taste. Every box that has to be filled in has its explanation and a helpfunction is available. Kamerstart.nl has the goal to offer the website in more languages beside Dutch and English on short term.
